In November and December, I had the honor of presenting at two very different venues: APHA and the Durham County Main Library!

In November, I went to the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting in Washington DC to give a poster presentation on my tuberculosis side project. My presentation was during the day 2 One Health section poster session, and I got lots of great feedback! It was also my first time presenting at a conference, so for it to be such a big conference was very exciting!

Then in December, I was invited (back) to speak at the “Who, What, When, Where, Why?” speaker series at the Durham County Main Library. The goal of this speaker series is to introduce the general public of Durham to some of the science going on in the Triangle; local scientists are brought in once a month to discuss the topics they work on in an accessible, low-key space. I first presented back in January on zoonotic diseases, and this time I talked about all things bacteria!
